Happiness isn't a destination; it's a journey. For many women, particularly those in wellness communities and Christian women seeking to lose weight or simply find joy, the path to happiness can sometimes seem elusive. But we can simply begin to start understanding and nurturing the elements that contribute to a fulfilling life by focusing on pleasure, engagement, and meaning to unlock a deeper sense of happiness.

Explore how you can integrate these essential components into your daily life and offer practical tips for bringing more joy and satisfaction into your routine.
The first pillar of happiness is pleasure. This involves doing activities that you love doing and bring you satisfaction. It's about making time for hobbies and interests that light up your life, whether it's painting, cooking, hiking, or simply reading a good book.
Engagement is the second pillar, being fully present and invested in your activities and relationships is very important. When you are fully engaged, you feel a strong connection to what you are doing and to the people around you. This can create a sense of fulfillment and purpose.
The third pillar is meaning. This involves feeling that your actions have a purpose and contribute positively to the world. This could be through your work, your relationships, or your faith. When you feel that what you do matters, it brings a profound sense of contentment and happiness!

Being engaged in your daily life and relationships is crucial for sustained happiness. Here are some ways to enhance your engagement:
Authenticity is key. You want people to appreciate you for who you truly are, not a facade. When you are authentic, your relationships become more meaningful and fulfilling.
Being present means giving your full attention to the moment and the people you are with. Practice active listening and show genuine interest in your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and others. This not only enriches your relationships but also deepens your sense of connection and engagement!
Move beyond surface-level conversations. Engage in meaningful discussions that allow you to connect on a deeper level. Share your experiences with those around you and allow them to share with you.
Respect is fundamental in any relationship. Understand and honor the boundaries of others without being pushy. This can foster mutual respect and a stronger connection.
Kindness goes a long way and is ever so needed. Compliment others and express what you admire about them. Kind words and actions can strengthen bonds and create a positive environment.

Feeling that your actions have significance is vital for happiness. Take some time to reflect on the following points to foster a sense of meaning in your life:
Remember that God our Father and Jesus our Savior used people from all walks of life; ordinary, imperfect people, to fulfill His plans. You, my friend, are significant and have a unique purpose right where you are, so embrace it!
You don't need to make grand gestures to live meaningfully. Simple acts of kindness, helping others, and being a positive influence on your family and in your community can bring profound meaning to your life.

Incorporating activities that bring you pleasure can significantly boost your happiness. Here are some ways can start:
Sit down and jot down things you enjoy or want to try. This could be painting, drawing, cooking, baking, sewing, reading, writing, crafting, gardening, playing games, hiking, biking, swimming, or really anything that makes you happy.
Commit to doing at least one activity from your list once a week. This breaks the monotony of daily routines and infuses more joy into your life. This was a great tip given to me by professor in grad school, and sure was right about this one!

Happiness doesn't always come from grand events. Often, happiness is found in the small, awe-inspiring moments of everyday life. Here are some ways to cultivate awe and deepen your happiness:
Write down what you're grateful for each day. Seeing your blessings in writing can shift your perspective and enhance your sense of happiness.
Connecting with our Father can be incredibly fulfilling. The awe and inspiration from scripture and prayer can provide a profound sense of peace and happiness.
Be mindful of what you taste, see, hear, smell, and feel. Notice the little things like a bee's wings or even a flower's petals. These small details can bring you to immense joy and wonder. Engaging your senses can help you really appreciate the beauty of the world around you.
Even if you can't travel, following travel accounts can provide inspiration. I, so this all the time! Experience as much of the world's beauty as you can, whether in person or virtually and explore God’s Wonders!
Reduce the noise and distractions in your life. Silence allows you to be fully present, appreciate the moment and most importantly, hearing God’s voice. Just be still.
As you move forward on your journey, remember that the pursuit of happiness is a deeply personal and ever-evolving experience. By embracing pleasure, engagement, and meaning in your daily life, you create a harmonious balance that nurtures your well-being.
Make time for activities that ignite your passion, cultivate genuine connections, and remain true to your values. Celebrate the beauty in everyday moments and practice gratitude regularly. Remember to seek guidance from God, who can provide strength and clarity as you navigate life's challenges.
Your happiness does not require perfection; it thrives on the sincere effort to live fully and meaningfully. As you weave these elements into your life, may your days be filled with joy, your heart overflow with happiness, and your spirit be uplifted by faith.
